Frequently Asked Questions

  • Keep your oysters cool and away from direct sunlight. 14 degrees is the optimal temperature. Ideal places include tiled laundry rooms, garage floors, or inside a cooler. On warmer days, you might want to wrap them in a damp towel.

  • We advise against storing unopened oysters in the fridge, as it is too cold and will reduce their shelf life drastically. The optimal storage temperature is 14 degrees.

  • Your oysters should remain safe to eat up to 15 days post-harvest, provided they are stored correctly.

  • Like you and me, oysters are all individuals and some are simply confused opening up waiting for the tide to come back in! It is not uncommon to find 1 or 2 open in your bag, which is why we provide a bakers dozen (13) to compensate for this.

  • We offer free local delivery to Port Macquarie & surrounds. You can also catch us at the markets if you’d like to pick them up yourself. Follow us on social media to get updates on when and where we’ll be next!

  • We ship oysters up and down most of the east coast of Australia. If you’re unsure if we’ll ship to you, please reach out.
